2 YEARS FAIRLIFE

#en_drasi

November 2022
Lung Cancer Awareness Month

In the summer of 2020, Simon Bell, 57, lost his life to lung cancer, leaving his family behind and a vision of a fair life for patients and caregivers.

Only 2 months later, Simon’s vision was realized by his wife Korina Pateli-Bell.

The first non-profit social organization in Greece, exclusively dedicated to lung cancer, was founded.

Our pain becomes a seed of power for FairLife!

The study was conducted for the first time in Greece, in collaboration with FairLife.  Based on a predictive, stochastic model, screening leads to a significant reduction in lung cancer deaths by 24.61% and a reduction in years of life years lost by 30.9%. Paving the way for 2023

Lung cancer is a complex, “invisible” disease.

We have achieved a lot, with the support of so many people, but there is still so much to do.

  • On the occasion of the World Awakening and Motivation Days, we are updating our actions. Our golas :
    • To inform and raise awareness about lung cancer,
    • To insist on prevention and equal access to innovative treatments and clinical trials,
    • To promote mental health and wellness issues.
  • We are breaking prejudices by preparing the STIGMA campaign, which addresses the stigma, experienced by lung cancer patients, regarding their smoking habits.
  • FairLife is now empowered by national and international partnerships, its experience as well as its acceptance by the world and the scientific community. The fight against lung cancer is carried on with optimism and hope.

The patient and his/her family environment are always at the core of our efforts. We are determined to claim for lung cancer patients the care and fair life they deserve.

Many thanks to our dedicated team and all supporters who have joined us to make Simon Bell’s vision a reality…

background

The battle that, however hard we tried, we could not unfortunately win. The hardest part of being diagnosed with an inoperable cancer is not what I’m going through, but seeing how much my family is suffering…
